 Slow Cooker Chicken Makhani

Serves 4

INGREDIENTS:

  1              pound  boneless skinless chicken breast -- or thighs
  2                     shallots -- minced
  2                     garlic cloves -- minced
  1              piece  fresh ginger root -- 1-inch long
  2        tablespoons  lemon juice
  2          teaspoons  garam masala
  1           teaspoon  ground cumin
     1/2      teaspoon  cayenne
     1/2      teaspoon  ground cloves
     1/2      teaspoon  ground fenugreek
     1/4      teaspoon  salt
     1/2      teaspoon  freshly ground black pepper
  1         tablespoon  butter
  1         tablespoon  tomato paste
     3/4           cup  greek yogurt, Plain

DIRECTIONS:

Place the chcken, shallots, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, the spices, butter, and tomato paste into a 4-quart slow cooker. Stir. Cook on low for 5 hours.

Stir in the yogurt. Serve immediately.
